i think i spend about 12 hours a day sitting in front of my computer, most of the stuff i do depends on it. Given at this age of technology, i don't think i'll be able to live without the computer. Nowadays i've come to realize my right wrist is beginning to hurt, and the pain extends up to my arm and my right shoulder, to the base of my neck. Though there are no obvious signs of swelling yet, i am concern that it might be the symptoms of CTS. At times, i have woken up at night to feel the stinging pain on my right palm, like needles poking on it.
Has anyone experienced CTS before? And is there anything i can do to make the pain go away? i've tried massaging my palms and stretching, there seems to be some kind of strain on my right elbow too. Right now i've switched the mouse to the left and am trying to avoid using my right arm as much as possible.
i've had a friend told me her company had to "let her go" because she had CTS and went through surgery, and it took a while to recover. And with that kind of work that requires using the computer, i don't think the company can afford having someone to be on leave for a long period. Just the thought of it makes me worry.
