So my vet recently informed me that I could split a capstar between my cats because they only require _____ amount per pound (or cat) , or some such. However, my vet is closed now and I can't remember if she said I could half it for two cats or quarter it for 4 cats. I'm thinking it was probably half for 2. Does anyone know? My cats weight approximately anywhere between 6-9 lbs.

Is there a package insert that tells you how many mg's/pound of body weight?

Not that I can see (it probably got misplaced). All I see is that 1 pill works for cats between 2-25 lbs. So if I'm going by math only I believe that would mean I'd need at least half for a 9 lb cat... right?

The FDA data sheet has more specific information of .45mg/pound minimum effective dose. So a 9 pound cat needs 4.05 mg minimum to kill fleas.

I bought this at Walmart. I just gave my cats one pill (14 and 16 lbs). Was amazed how well these pills work!
