I switched to a grain free diet for one of my cats reoccurring digestive problems, now my other cat with medium lenghth hair and thick undercoat is having problems with hairballs. I comb her at least once sometimes twice a day and use laxatone and she still has problems. I have tried feeding them different foods and that doesn't work. The only way to keep them out of each others food is with a closed door and then they are each at the door more interested in what is going on with each other than in eating. I guess the new foods don't have enough fiber for the one with the real thick fur. I haven't heard of using it for hairball control but I wonder if a little pumpkin two or three times a week would work?
