Hello - I was petting my cat Jojo today and I noticed these little dots attached to his ear hair. Does this look like it could be mites? If so, do you suggest any remedies? My bet is closed until Monday, so I can't do anything about it professionally until then.

Thanks!

Well, it doesn't look like any of the pictures of ear mites I have ever seen. Mites look like dirty coffee grounds,, and honestly, I don't really see anything in your pictures :paperbag: (but I admit that I have terrible eye sight)

Is your cat scratching his ears or shaking his head alot?

If you rub them do they move? If not, could it be follicles? Sorry, but the pics were kind of hard to see.

Try rubbing/niggling the base of his ears and see if he shakes his head, scratches or holds his ears flat. And if you are very careful, you can swab with a q-tip in ghe outer ear folds and check for the dark, coffee-looking crumbles or the dark or red discharge. If he is uncomfortable, you can use food oil to help control them until you can go to the vet.
