I've always used advantage ll extra large dog and broken it down but I was able to get ahold of a box of Frontline Gold 89-132 lbs. I've never used this one before and I'm wondering and hoping that it's safe for the cats at the proper dosage? With Advantage, I was giving .4 if under 10 lbs and .8 if 10+ lbs.

Can I do the same with this? Is it safe?

I have always read that most dog meds are toxic to cats. Some ingredients that work well for a dog will kill a cat. I would not. I highly recommend talk to your vet before you use anything not recommend specifically for cats.

I have to agree with duckpond duckpond . I don't know whether you are doing this because of the cost or what, but the money won't matter if you make your cat sick or cause some toxicity that could be fatal.

The other issue is whether over the long haul the meds you are using could cause organ damage in a cat that might not happen in a dog.
