Can anyone tell me what this is?

So I was scratching my cat tonight and noticed this patch on his paw.

I noticed it peeling a bit and it was rough. I took a couple photos and he didn't seem to be uncomfortable at all.

I would take him to the vet. But with everything going on right now, my vet has limited hours available.

Do anyone have an idea what this might be?

Hi! Does it feel hard or kind of soft underneath? It looks to me as though he might have stepped on something and that is a callous that developed.

You could, if your vet allows it, send an email with these photos and see what they say.

It’s a little hard for me to see in the photo but sending a photo to the vet is an excellent idea. It’s always best to get a medical opinion and since it’s a photo, the vet can respond when there is a free moment. Most vets have websites and email services these days. Even my , very rural, vet does. A response would relieve you of any concerns.

It could be a callus starting...or it could actually be a corn...just like we humans get. Is he favoring that foot as he walks? Here is a pic i found when i googled it.....
