Caliby or Torbie, what's the difference?

I am wondering what kind of coat color my cat has. I have been told that she's a Torbie, a Caliby and a regular tabby by different vets. I thought this might be a good place to settle this debate!

I would describe your cat's color as brown patched tabby and white, or torbie and white ("patched tabby" and "torbie" are equivalent terms, both meaning tortoiseshell tabby). Her tabby pattern appears to be mackerel or broken mackerel. She's gorgeous! And these are great pictures, too :)

The term "caliby" is an informal term meaning torbie and white, but is usually reserved for cats with more white than this, and more distinctly separated red tabby and brown tabby patches, similar to a calico. Here's an example:

Okay, gotcha👍 From what I saw online I was leaning towards Torbie. Thanks for your help!

Torbico is the official term for a torbie with white. They generally always have a white chest, and all 4 paws should have some white on them :)

I don't think "torbico" is an official term in any association... Geneticists would generally say tortoiseshell tabby and white, or tabby tortoiseshell and white. Cat fancy associations use the terms patched tabby and white (CFA), torbie and white (TICA), or tortoiseshell tabby and white (FIFe).
