This gorgeous guy I mentioned in the "Turkish Van" thread.
He wasn't eating dry food, and no one noticed. He was brought in by someone whose neighbor moved out and left the cat behind.
I noticed he wasn't eating, and got him wet food. After that, he was fed wet, but probably not as much as he would have liked. He was putting on some weight, but was still extremely skinny.
I told the shelter assistant director to call me before they made any drastic decisions about him. She said they were thinking he might be diabetic. They noticed, as had I, that his litter box was almost entirely soaked.
Dottie stopped by the shelter yesterday afternoon and happened to notice he wasn't in his accustomed cage. She asked about him, and he had been euthanized. Apparently the message to call us didn't get put on his card.
RIP, Buddy. I didn't know that far-off stare of yours was looking at the near end of the Rainbow Bridge.
