For anyone who has fostered very young kittens AND puppies, how would you compare the two? What is different between them?

I have a little experience bottle/syringe feeding kittens, but I know absolutely nothing about dogs/puppies (100% cat person here). I was just asked to foster a one-day old puppy that was found alone and brought to the shelter I volunteer at. I've got puppy formula, syringes, a miracle nipple, hot water bottle and blankets and I've been told it's basically the same as with kittens.

So I was just wondering about other people's experience.

So far, I feel like this puppy is way more twitchy and squeaky in her sleep than any neonatal kitten I've fostered. Not sure if that's normal or not.

How are things going? Would a heartbeat toy help her or even a muffled ticking clock (muffled by wrapping a small towel around it)? If you need more information, places such as Petsmart / Banfield Veterinary, or your own vet could be of help too.
