So Boo has been in his bedroom for 6 weeks now. He's pretty much recovered from his broken pelvis and has been neutered, vaccinated and chipped. A couple of the cats go down and watch him in the room (now with the door ajar) and he watches them. He's tried to come upstairs a few times but Etta lurks at the top of the stairs and keeps him from coming up. She hisses, but not any more than she does one of the other cats. Anyway, he retreats quietly to his room.
He sits in the window, looking longingly out. He enjoys it when we spend time with him downstairs, but he really isn't showing a lot of interest in coming all the way up the stairs. The others have chosen to pretend he isn't here. The young one sometimes gets crabby with me for having spent time with the new kid.
It could be a lot worse. I hope that Boo is happy in our house. He sure likes using the other cats' cat's boxes
