I am getting a 7 week old blind kitten. I have been doing rescue work for ten years and have had neuralogically disabled kittens but need information about caring for a blind kitten.

Once the kitty acclimates to the house, he/she will surprise you at how fast it adapts. When we got our two blind kitties Tag and Marbles, I decided to make the living room their place and boarded up the doorway so that they couldn't get out of the room. I put out several litter boxes, and plugged all the small holes that they could wander in. In a matter of days they knew the lay-out of the room and unless we moved a stick of furniture they were fine. Eventually we opened up the whole house to their exploring. Tag would reach out and grab our ankles as we passed (thus earning his name) and he loved to sit in the dog's feed bowl. If there was a fly in the room, Tag would be the first kitty (out of 10 at the time) to catch it, and I learned more from Tag and his sister than I could of learned in books. Good luck and if I can be of any help, feel free to email me.
