Hi! I have a 4 month old tabby kitten eats nulo, koha and instinct wet food and gets a probiotic daily, no vaccines since the shelter and I'm wondering where this black crust came from out of no where. He eats out of glass bowls too a new clean bowl each feeding. Could it be acne? Do kittens usually just not groom very well or their face? I've never had a cat on wet food sadly I always gave dry and they became addicted so I vowed to never let my new kitten try dry. But I'm wondering maybe since wet food is messier he could be creating bacteria on his face?

Black crust below nose on upper mouth?

Have you tried wiping them with a damp cloth, do they come off easily? I think they may be just boogies.
