Salem at 10 weeks old
Salem is lovely. My black cat Jiro used to have tabby markings when he was a baby. His mum was a tabby. They faded as he got older but you can still see the tabby M above his eyes in some lights.

Patrick, who needs a new home, is also black but has longer fur.

Oh my, she's almost all black again. What do you feed her to attain that black fur? My Patrick is just getting browner and redder and white on his belly!
I'm pretty sure her colour change is related to the amount of sunlight she gets and the change in temperature. It gets down to -20C here in the winter and up to 40C in the summer, plus she spends nearly all day out in her enclosure when the weather is nice.
She gets the same food as the rest of them do, a mix of wet and dry. Japanese brands Carat, Aixia and Unicharm as well as Sheba wet and dry.
Salem is a sweetheart. She is such a mush. I have her original family to thank for that Everyone handled her from day 1. She is a real mischief maker also
