Has anyone ever had this problem before? I bought some tins of Evo wet food, and it has these strange soft black things in it - kind of like pieces of fish skin (few mm in diameter), only there is not supposed to be any fish in it. The black pieces are not hard, they are soft and mushy if you palpate them. I did feed one can and did not notice the pieces (but maybe I just missed seeing them
). But then the next 2 cans that I opened had these black pieces in them. I presume the other unopened cans will be the same as they are from the same batch. I am not feeding the food.
Not sure if I will get my money back, but should I take both opened cans as well as the unopened cans to the store and let them know? What a waste of money, as this is not cheap food. Should I be concerned about the quality control of the product or is this probably just a fluke incident?
I had some issues with another premium brand a while ago too. My cats dislike the premium foods with carrots and peas etc. in them, so I am running out of options of makes to try. Thinking of giving up on premium wet foods and just feeding Friskies - I seem to have much better luck with that food.
