Not anything bad- just a real mild cold. But it was enough that I decided not to go to clinical this afternoon. I showed up for pre/post conference, then said I was going to leave. I'm not really running a fever, and not really coughing up "stuff". And I feel better than I did yesterday.
But I'm in my children's hosptial rotation, and there are some sick kids there. I'm probably not as contageous as I was when I first came down with it, but I would feel horrible if I got some child sicker due to me just being stubborn .
We have days built into clinical so that you don't have to stress about not going.
Last year I came down with a really nasty virus- but I worked 2 days through it. Got sent home one day- my boss told me "Go home, you sound awful". It's different though when the only thing you're doing is counting clothes (it was a job through an inventory service) and it's healthy adults you're working with- compared to a children's hospital.
Now hopefully my kids won't get it over Spring break
