OMG! I also collect Disney and Eeyore things! Eeyore is the best!

I am 31 years old and proud to be a Canadian. I was born in Toronto and have lived here my whole life. I have traveled to Europe, America and Mexico. I am mostly happily married and am the proud parents of 5 cats. I would love more, but Sugarly has socialization issues. I would love to be the mother of human babies, but I may not be able to have any - I keep hoping!

I work for the Canadian government in their Employment Insurance program. I have been on contract with them for 1 month longer then I have been married - I just celebrated my 6th anniversary here. I am hoping that my position become permanent sometime soon.

I am very close to my family, especially my mom. My family drives my hubby nuts, so it can sometimes cause marital stress. I am currently on a hypnosis program to lose weight and i have lost 12 pounds so far. I need to get healthy as the doctor has said this week I am developing a heart problem!

In my spare time I play with my cats, read fantasy/sci-fi, play on my computer, go to the race track and watch reality tv.

I forgot to mention: I collect Winnie the Pooh things (mainly snowglobes). I quit doing that though because they are too expensive! I also have a few Boyd's Bears figurines.

I'm Anne and I'm 30. I live in Israel with my wonderful husband, 6 months old baby Ron and 3 cats. Very possibly a dog as well very soon

I have 2 brothers and one sister - I am the eldest. I have a BA in English lierature and political science. I am a native speaker of Hebrew and have never been to the USA
My Hebrew name is Anat El Hashahar but as it would probably break your teeth if you try to pronounce it I use the English version of it - Anne Moss - for English speaking audiences.

I was a Captain in the IDF up until 3 years ago. I left to find a new vocation as a webmaster and set up TheCatSite.com. As luck would have it the dot com bubble crashed just before the site went on the air
so much for my get rich quick scheme

My other websites include the Israeli cats website and my Hebrew cat behavior counselling website (+ a few other personal websites for my family). I also practice cat behavior counseling - the only one in Israel
I work with the local cat welfare society and they refer most cases to me. I am currently involved in two other cat projects as well - writing a massive cat book in Hebrew and working on a new cat related web directory (don't worry - you'll know all about that when we go live
)

Between working on the websites, counseling cat problems, writing the book and looking after my 6 months old baby (and not in that order
), I can't say I find much time for anything else, so my hobbies used to be cross stitch, reading and playing computer games

I wish I would have a lot more time to spend here in the forums. I try to visit frequently and at least read a bit, but I'm afraid I don't get around to post very often. Thank God for the wonderful wonderful moderators here in TCS!!! Without them these forums simply wouldn't exit...

And thanks for this thread - it's really nice and gave me a chance to get to know a lot of our members.

Hey Vader,
Do you like Star Trek???

I'd like to add that for hobbies, besides my family tree, is collecting old, vintage still and motion cameras and projectors. I would love to pick up an old projector from the 1930's-40's. I saw one once but it was out of my money range at the time!

I have worked in the same factory for 13 years, and I really don't like it, but it pays the bills.

I have many, many cats, and my one indoor cat, who's name is Merlin, and he's my baby (second to Amber of course).
I also have 2 dogs, a hedgehog, and several duprasi.(they are alot like hamsters or gerbils)

Hi, I'm Jeanie and I have two Siamese cats, Precious and Blueberry, and a collie, Beethoven (he already had the name!). I have four grown children and five grandchildren; #6 is due any day now. I was a voice major in college when I got polio. So I spent a couple of years learning to walk again. Then I married, and went back to studying voice privately, financing my lessons by teaching piano. I auditioned and was accepted into the Pittsburgh Opera Company, a professional company, accompanied by the Pittsburgh Symphony. Our soloists were imported from the Metropolitan Opera and all the great opera houses across the world. Anna Moffo, Beverly Sills, and Jerome Hinds were a few of our stars.

Eventually my husband and I separated, so I went back to college for five years and got my certification in music ed. and English. I subbed in the public schools at all levels, and taught at two Christian schools and a day school for special children. During all of my adult life, I have had a position as a choir director or church organist. I have raised and shown collies and raised Siamese cats for several years. I love flower gardening, painting, reading, music (of course!), writing, and animals. Nature is a great inspiration to me; it's like an endless cathedral, and fills me with gratitude for the beauty of the earth. I used to have aquariums and finches also. I haven't found much of anything that doesn't interest me.
Two years ago, I had to quit teaching because I was so susceptible to the respiratory infections the little ones get. After being hospitalized 3 times in one year, I knew I had to stop. It broke my heart, because I love to teach. I still teach my granddaughters piano. I think I will take some additional piano and voice students (without colds!!). I need to be useful, and I need the money! (A long post for a longer life, unfortunately.)

Movin' on up!
I'm Cindy and am 44 y/o, divorced but engaged to Bill. I was born and raised in Tucson, lived in Tombstone for 12 years. While there, I played a madam, in historical reenactments, TV commercials and documentaries.

I spent 1 1/2 years, in Laughlin NV, working in a casino. After my marriage broke up, I returned to Tucson, to be close to my family.

I have two sons: Richard, 28 and Mark, 24. They, both live within 30 miles of us. We have two cats: Opie, 3 1/2 yrs. and Rowdy, 6 mos. One Dalmatian, Ike, 2 1/2 yrs. fills out the family.

I'm a cashier, at Walgreens and, like almost everyone else, I hate my job but it pays the bills.

My hobbies are sewing, reading, crosswords and logic puzzles. I, also, sing karaoke whenever I have a free Thursday night.

Oh, yeah! I am a chocoholic!

Well, where do I start? Firstly I am suprised to find that so many of you cross stitch!

I am a 33 year old female who lives in rural New South Wales in Australia. I married my husband Tom on the Big Island of Hawaii in May this year which was absolutely amazing and very special. We have been together for nearly 5 years and bought our first home in March last year. Most of our time is spent renovating and decorating our country style home and we really enjoy doing it.

Like many of you here we don't plan to have children so all our attention is focused on our beautiful one year old Russian Blue daughter, Phoebe. We adopted her in June after our precious Tatiana (also a Russian Blue) died whilst we were away in Hawaii. Phoebe has managed to mend our broken hearts and she is truly adorable - a real sweetheart. She is soooooo snuggly and cuddly, always ready for a super snuggle!

I work with teenagers helping them enter the workforce or further study after leaving school. I really enjoy my job, I have my own office (with internet access
) and I get out of the office regularly. I am required to drive through some lovely countryside a couple of times a week to see my clients in remote areas which I love. Tom is a self employed Cabinetmaker. We enjoy four wheel driving, surfing the net (we fight over the computer like little kids!), travel, drooling over cars (esp. sports cars and 4x4's), playing Tomb Raider on Sony (haven't had much time for that lately though), home decorating and dreaming about the farm we hope to own one day soon. Oh yeah, we looooove cake and chocolates too!

It's been so nice getting know you all better!

LOL, Deb, I think he knows it, since he has always been allowed to sleep wherever he wants, and he got the boot out of the bassinet twice yesterday!! He kept looking at me like, "Well didn't you buy this thing for ME??????" and when she cries, he looks at me like, "Can't you shut her up? I'm trying to sleep here" :tounge2:

Hi everyone,

My name is Vickie, I live in Sydney, Australia and am 30 years old. I married my wonderful husband in September 2001 and am still blissfully in love! I am a Flight Attendant and the worst thing about the job is that I am away from my two beautiful Birmans, Sasha and Cleo - way too much!

My husband and I have just bought our first home, and are moving on Wednesday. The girls don't know about it yet, but I already know they will be thrilled with the bigger space to explore and run around in.

We don't have any children (yet) but do plan on having one or two once we are all settled and have spent plenty of time with each other first! I enjoy reading, especially true crime and biographies. I also love cats of all kinds, and am really enjoying reading these forums and getting to learn about other people and thier kitties. I also love gardening and my home is always filled with beautiful scented flowers from the garden.

Enough about you, let's talk about me. (ha ha, just kidding!!!!!!!)I'm 16 and anxiously awaiting December 6 so I can have friends in the car when I drive...not that I even have a car, but whatever. I'll be a junior this year at my brokea$$ high school. I'm from a small town that just keeps getting bigger at the base of Mt. Hood in Oregon. I love to dance and take ballet, jazz, and tap classes in Vancouver, WA, performing frequently with the exception of my first recital with my new studio at the beginning of summer due to a last-minute dislocated knee. I also play water polo (used to be through school, but budget cuts reared their ugly head and we are now a club sport), and swim the rest of the year. I should get a job to help pay for all my activities, and I babysat all summer until the lady fired me when I went shopping one day instead of coming to work because she dint tell me what time she needed me...but that's a long story, and it only payed 3.50/hour anyway. I have three girls: Sasha (the mama kitty) and Tag and Turtle. I love them very much, unless it is 3 AM and Sasha is yowling at my door. Then I find it a little difficult. I love to read and have gone through the Harry Potter series more times than I can count. I also just finished a great book called The Lovely Bones, about a young girl who is murdered and watches her family and friends cope with their loss from heaven. all right, I'll stop now, or I could go on for hours. (hey, this is a fun thread!)

Hi Nathalie!

Another Oregonian, HOORAY!!! All those budget cuts in the schools really suck, don't they? Good thing I don't have kids and not planning on any! My cats are enough for me. Welcome to the site!!

Yeah, the budget cuts way suck. We lost our ski team, which is just pathetic considering we live ON the mountain! BTW- I love your signature there...that's one of my favorite things about oregonians...I mean, who actually USES umbrellas?

Umbrellas are SUCH a hassle! I only use one if it is pouring!!
I made up that signature all by myself! I wanted one that described Portland and remember seeing a qoute, "Welcome to Oregon-Our floods put out our forest fires!" or "Welcome to Oregon-Home of Tonya Harding, Please keep your knees inside the car at all times!" Rain came to mind and that sig. came out!
At least you don't have to travel far to hit the slopes!
