Poor Bea. You could come home with me sweetie. I don't mind if you miss the litterbox

The poor sweet girl.
When will people learn that it just isn't right to mutilate a cat because of your material things.
Your couch and chair don't have feelings, your cat does.

Clipping a cats claws CAN be difficult, but it's not impossible...I do it, even to my little hell raiser Annabelle.
A scratching post isn't expensive and it takes no time at all to teach a cat to use one...I showed Gracie once and that's all it took....and only a handful of times for Annabelle and Elliott to catch on.
I've never used the nail covers, but that's also an option.

About 7 years ago I was really stupid and I hung my leather coat over the back of the dining roon chair instead of hanging it up like I should have.
Gracie clawed it to hell and back.
She ruined it, but it wasn't her fault it was mine...the thought of declawing her over that stupid coat never once entered my mind.

I wish with all my heart that they'd make declawing illegal here.

That poor kitty.
She's been through so much.
Sending chin scritches and gentle hugs her way.

that her paws heal soon.

If they wanted clumping litter, they should have at least used Swheat Scoop (swheat scoop is advertised safe for newly declawed cats) or Feline Pine scoop.
And a plastic under-bed storage box probably would have solved the litter pan issue.
(my sister uses those for her litter pans, I have to use high sided sterilites)

Graciecat you go through the same emotions as I do. Someone on another forum explained it best (it's for rats but basically the same thing):

I have never thought that I would experience this reactionary cycle to rat destruction.

Anger. At oneself, of course. God, I shouldn't have left my forty dollar sweatshirt where they could get to it! Angry

Resignation. Ah well, rats will be rats.

Pride. Hmm... forty dollars in six hours is quite impressive work... what a stunning capacity for potential destruction they have! -kisses-

Optimism. At least I can make the other sleeve into a hammock for them.

I'm so sad for poor Bea.... I would take her in a heartbeat if I could get her here, she deserves not to wonder if she will ever have a home to call her own after what cruel people have done to her..... I'd be crabby too if I had went through what she has...

Oh No!

Bea .... an innocent who is still suffering.
this is intolerable.

Someone please adopt Bea and give her the love that she deserves.

Natalie - you need to win the lottery and start a sanctuary!

HORRIBLE PEOPLE!

Poor, poor baby. OK. This is about Bea.

I am sending just HUGE vibes that a PROPER foster or adoptive family help this poor baby girl!

Poor thing. I'm so sorry those people turned out to be a-holes. It must have taken lots of restraint not to yell at them. (Although I'm kind of hoping you did yell at them.)

Ummmm..... does this mean she's coming home with you? Or you're not particularly happy with the foster parents?

I don't know whether to be excited or scared!

So the answer is..... I should be excited AND scared!

What an incredible thing you're doing Nat. You really DO need to win the lottery so you can start a sanctuary!

Bea's luck is changing, and thanks to you she's going to have a chance at a little peace and happiness in her life. Well - maybe not so much peace, but at least love.

Not really....but I'll make it happen. There's 6 kitties in the basement & 3 upstairs. She'll have to be in the basement, in my bedroom. But she'll also have to be in a large dog crate most of the time, to help her heal. It'll be better than being in a smaller dog crate at the shelter.
