Sqeeker will be 15 next month. He's been losing weight steadly for over a year with bloodwork every 3mt. Prior to this everything has been normal.
About 2 wks ago he was vomiting a few times a week and had diarhea. With fortiflora, switching to pate, and Delectable bisque daily the vomiting stopped and his poop became normal. He was eating 2 fancy feast cans a day plus 3/4 of a pouch of bisque. He was still losing and ounce a week. He's down to 4.1lb from 7lb18mts ago.

At his app on Monday the vet looked in his mouth. His teeth are good and his throat looked clear. He's not dehydrated. She did really thoruogh exam and he's so thin that both of us thought she'd be able to feel if he had a growth.

Wed and Thurs he was licking his food a lot but when he lifted his head almost nothing was gone. Today he ate 1/3 can pate and 1/2 his bisque and so far for dinner he's eaten 1/4 can of each pate and gravy lovers. I'll syringe feed him if he slows down again. I've never done that before and it scares me a little. He takes big drinks several times a day when we put him near the sink. He'll sit next to the fountain of bowls and just stare at them.

He's too weak for anesthesia so we're treating symptoms. On Monday he got cerenia and he ate less after it so I don't think we'll do that again. Today he got a B-12 and a Convenia injection.

I'm not sure I have a question just looking totap into our knowledge base.

I don't like to make overly broad speculations, especially without more details, so I will only conjecture based on what you have provided so far and ask questions accordingly.

Is Sqeeker too weak for anesthesia due to his weight loss, or?? And, what would be the need for anesthesia? The only thing I can see in his blood work is the high WBC and related numbers, as well as the low RBC count. Is he on any meds, besides what was recently prescribed?

What tests - besides blood work - have been run? I am shocked with his weight loss, that the vet hasn't suggested other testing options, long before now. At a minimum, ultrasounds can be done without anesthesia. Most only require a mild sedative, if that.

Can you have the vet prescribe an appetite stimulant?

Hi. I am so sorry your cat is sick.
I am not a vet and have never seen your cat. Please don’t change anything or do anything I might suggest without discussing it with your vet. All I can do here is tell you what I would do if this was my cat, and what I think.

If this was my cat, I would get an emergency appointment with a veterinary internal medicine specialist. Your cat has many complicating issues andreally needs a specialist. An abdominal ultrasound can be done without anesthesia.

If my cat had these blood results, kidney disease would be high on the list. A cat has to have enough muscle mass to register creatinine. It is low because there is no muscle for it to get high but it doesn’t mean the kidneys are working.

I would be highly suspect with the what is going on with the white blood cells. The anemia is very concerning as well.

I was going to go into detail, but there is no point. You really need a specialist. There may be medications that could help, but you need a specialist to figure out what’s going on.
