I accidentally shut Mollipop up in the computer room yesterday before I left for work and she spent the entire day in there. With no litterbox. No toys. No water.
She and I always get ready for work together. When I get out of the shower and start to dry off, she scritches at the bathroom door, so I can let her in the bathroom. I have her in my arms when I'm brushing my teeth, so she can bat at my toothbrush. When I'm in the kitchen putting my apple and yogurt in my little lunch bag, Molli is in the kitchen screaming for a snack to tide her over. And when I'm dressing in the computer room, she's sitting on "her" chair watching me. When I'm dressed, I pick her up and carry her over to the bedroom to the catnapper...she curls up and goes to sleep. It's our routine and it hardly ever changes.
We did all those things yesterday. I remember picking her up and placing her in the catnapper. Told her that I loved her, but that I had to go to work so I could buy her kitty food. I went over to the computer room to get my iPod and she must have come in behind me. I shut the door and went to work.
DH came home and she was frantic. She was a little hoarse, so she must have been meowing for somebody to please get her out of the room. She was right at the door and when DH opened the door, he smacked her with it. Poor Mollipop. She "texted" me when DH got home and left her out of the room. She was not amused.
Bless her heart, she didn't pee or poop anywhere and I'm hoping that she spent most of the day sleeping. She didn't do a lot to the papers on DH's desk, thank goodness...she did get the stamps and chewed on them, but I guess that's OK. The cats have a queen-sized pillow on a stand next to the double window in that room and they do spend a lot of time sleeping there. That was on the floor. But that was it.
When I got home last night, she was at the door waiting for me and, boy, did I ever catch it from her. She was meowing and meowing, telling me all about how she was traumatized and how dare I do that to her??!
I spent the rest of the night groveling and catering to her every whim.
I just felt so bad.
