Bad Aim

My female cat likes to position itself near the edge of the litter box when it takes care of business. Sometimes when it goes #1 it starts flying off the edge of the box. Any suggestions to adjust this behavior ?

Try a taller litter box, I had the same problem so bought a storage box, no lid, with tall sides and cut an opening in the front

It may also help to set the current box inside a larger and higher sided box, like a storage tub you cut down, so that when she goes over the side it’s contained.

Adjust the litter box, not the cat's quirky use of the litter box. Try a litter box with higher sides, like a storage container with a entry hole cut out. Lid optional.

Or put the current litter box inside of a large storage container to make messes easier to clean up:

And if you go with a higher box, make sure the entry is on the SIDE of the box, not the end. That way, when she enters, her nose will be right up against the other side, and she will automatically turn long-ways, and her butt won't be facing the opening.

I use a baby bath for my two and sometimes they still manage to stand on tiptoe and spray over the edge!
