It's been a sad couple of days at the rescue where I volunteer. We lost Baby Dell, a sweet, spunky, fluffy little black kitten who, despite our vet's best efforts, just wasn't thriving or gaining weight. She was only 6 weeks old, but had won the hearts of many people. During the few days I fostered her, she would climb right out of her cage and onto my lap. Dell's life was too short, but she was happy and loved. Benedict was a stray kitty who showed up in neighborhood where we'd helped with a number of abandoned cats last fall. He was a sweet, sweet orange boy who was just too sick and badly injured to be saved when we learned about him yesterday. He was surrounded by love as he passed and is now at peace. Just wanted to remember both of these special kitties.
