My cats have worn out the scratcher they had, so I have been on a search for a replacement. I found this one....the Sleeky Lounger XL at brawnycat.com. The cats absolutely love it....one of them has been on it since it arrived 2 days ago. It's huge...26" wide, and 16" deep. Most of what I saw was only 9" deep....and for more $$. This thing is really sturdy, and big enough for 2 cats, or one really stretched out. Cheapest prices I saw were at the brawny cat site. These guys are the ones who make the $200+ scratcher with the wood sides that Jackson Galaxy brings to clients. It appears they have taken the refill for the expensive one, and made it into a standalone unit at a reasonable price. Comes with different color trim. The cardboard stuff is much tighter and heavier than the normal scratchers.....you can tell it is going to last a while.
