Sorry he won't properly deal with it, but at least you know how to get the problem resolved. SO glad that sludge - and the smell - is gone!

Update:  the smell never went away completely and is increasing again.  But, I found a new house to rent, only a block away.  It's a much nicer place and I think I'll be happier there.

Sorry. I got mixed up. I thought this was a new house and that you'd found another. Now I know.
When will you be moving. This is a house or an apartment?

It's a house that I'm moving into.  Once they're finished with the carpet and painting, I'll be moving a little bit each day.  Around the 1st I'll do the big move (couch, dressers, bed, deep freezer, etc.).
