Oh, thank you for asking...
How is sweet Artie doing?
I have not had anymore of an issue with his teeth.. His awesome Vet, left the practice in order to be closer to her home...and it is no where near where I live, so he has to see a new regular Vet. I am making an appointment with one for next month..
so nothing new with his teeth..
Artie had an appointment with the Specialist (Internal Med) last week. He goes every 3 months or so.. The blood work came out good. I have yet to see it, but I expect a copy of it in the mail. The specialist was very happy with the blood work.. He does not have to see her for another 4-6 months!! (happy dance)
unless, he gets another flare of his IBD...but we seem to have a handle on it.. when he does not eat, stops playing, stays in a meatloaf position, and vomits a couple of times; I automatically call the specialist. She prescribes a round of Cerenia, which seems to do the trick...
funny thing: after his last flair, in September, He decided he likes to play, again!
I mean for a cat who is almost 13 years old (February), I am so ecstatic..he is really alert...
not as cuddly, but still alert..not as talkative, but still such a good boy..
I wish he would gain a bit of weight.. it seems with each flare-up, he will lose weight, and never re-gain all that he has lost..He eats about 2.5 - 3 small cans of food per day..and cannot gain weight. Artie was a thin cat to begin with...
over the past almost 5 years (March), we have really grown to know each others habits, routines, personalities..
He is so good with taking medicines.. sometimes, not so good, but on the whole, he is a good by...
Artie still does not leave me if I am not feeling well..He is still my nurse...
Artie is still my love
