I have an 18 year old cat. (see avatar although that's a few years old)  She was having trouble getting into a litter box.  She is a petite little thing and only weighs 6#.  She was peeing around in other places.  I had to figure something out.  She didn't want to go into the basement anymore.

So, I created a litter box.  I went to Home Depot and bought a plastic pan that you would put under a washing machine.  I also bought three sheets of corrugated plastic.  I duct taped the sheets to form walls, and then filled the pan with lightweight litter (I like the Tidy Cat lightweight a lot)

OMG!  Problem solved.  She can step into it so easily.  There is more litter tracked, but sweeping up litter is much better than cleaning up pee.

Here is a photo.

I wanted to share in case anyone else is having issues like me.

That is brilliant.  Thanks so much for sharing.  I have a stray cat that I took in that is having issues with the litter box.  I was going to try a large rimmed cookie sheet, but this looks so much better.

Great idea and reasonably priced too!!!
