Anyone owns an ozone generator?

I'm in the market for one to get rid of the smell in my house. Is it safe to run while the house is occupied? I heard some said it not, whilenother swear it'd safe. Does it really work?

They do work, but ozone is a respiratory irritant even at small concentrations. They're typically used only in unoccupied areas. I wouldn't want to spend a lot of time where they're operating.

Consumer Labs and the EPA advise that they cannot be used in an occupied area.
