Anyone live near/in Louisville, KY?

We've been debating on moving to Louisville for a little while now. I've done some apartment searches and there are a million places to live. I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for areas to avoid or good areas to live. We've visited several times, but really we have no idea of good areas of town.

I live in ky, but not lousiville. I have no idea if that is nearby or what it is like.
