Sometimes when my babies are sleeping really still and comfortably, I annoy them just a little bit (like petting the inside of their ear or in between their toes) so they'll shift in their sleep and I'll know they're alive.
I do the same thing!Originally Posted by Satai

My husband does and says the same thing about Midnight.Originally Posted by SwampWitch
I don't do that, but my husband used to, with Oberon. He'd give him a gentle poke now and then, saying that Oberon wakes him up during the night so it's only fair.
tell me about it!Originally Posted by LilleKat
Well, considering they sleep for at least 20 hours of the day and bother us - more specifically me - during my limited and frequently interrupted 6, then I think it's only fair that I should get to poke their bellies or tickle their toes!!Having cats and a sleeping problem doesn't tend to go too well together....
Hence my obsessive disturbing them, just a little.Originally Posted by mrblanche
Have you ever picked up their head when they're doing the "dreaming" thing? They are totally limp! You would swear they are dead. Our first cat, Snoopy, did that one time when we were moving to PA, and it scared my wife to death.
My boys sleep paws up most of the time, so I'll walk by, give a little tickle, see a very annoyed look, and then walk away.Originally Posted by Satai

They usually get me back at around 6am.
