With DPA-cats, I mean areas of the home that the cat thinks is where certain people are to pet them. My DPA-cat is Samson. If I'm on the computer, I have entered a Designated Petting Area, and I'm the only one that can pet him. If my son is doing his homework at the dining room table, that is Eddy's Designated Petting Area for Samson. My hubby's DPA is when he tries to go upstairs in the morning. Samson will leap up onto his scratching post (located at the bottom of the steps) and await the petting!
Cats with DPA will only allow petting from the person assigned to that area of the house...if anyone else tries to pet him, he will bite them. (Not hard, but enough to make you stop trying to pet him).
So, anyone else with a cat like this?
