We just rehomed a 14moths old lovey yesterday. The previous owner wasnt able to provide exact breed however, she mentioned that our lovey is a mixed siamese.Im not good at looking after cat breeds..He likes to be touched, a bit shy (maybe because of the transition). He has quiet a built and a long body.will you be able to identify him?

He is a very handsome kitty! He is a colorpointed cat, meaning that he was born white and developed his coloring later. His exact color description would be cream point. Now for breed, in his body type he is similar to an old-style Siamese. In order for him to be a colorpoint, there has to be some Siamese in his ancestry, but it might have been far back. The colorpoint gene is recessive, so it can skip many generations. So, because of that, you might not see many of the Siamese personality traits in him. Since he doesn't have pedigree papers, his breed would technically be considered Domestic Shorthair. Calling him a Siamese mix would also be accurate, you just can't be sure if there is much Siamese in the mix.

He's a lovely domestic shorthair cat, but I don't necessarily see siamese in him. Siamese are pointed cats, meaning that the cooler points on their bodies are darker than the rest. The points are generally face, ears, paws and tail. Many people think that any pointed cat has to have siamese in the background, but there are a number of other breeds with color points. Color points can also occur in the random cat population, otherwise know as household pets, house cats, domestic long-or-shorthair.

His points are very faint, but he looks like he might be a flame (red) or cream lynx point, meaning his points are red or cream with tabby markings. I see the tabby in his tail. Are his eyes blue? That is a feature of all pointed cats, but also occurs in some non-pointed cats.

Observe he also does carry white, and the white cowers parts of his typical masque on the face. That is why he isnt very apparent a point.

I presume he has blue / bluish eyes?
