Any Ideas On Breed?

This is Bear, I rescued a semi feral mom and she gave me 8 kittens, which I got homes for. I was afraid the black male would get adopted, so I kept him. He started out Jet black and fluffy but now at 4.5 months changes by the week.
He loves water and chirps and trills alot.

Odd color change! Sort off reversed fever coat. Usually they start grayish and become black,,,

Welcome to TCS! I can't really put my finger on anything. Do you have any pics of the mother and maybe a couple more shots of Bear standing without his ears not laid back and a little further back, not so close up? That's such an unusual coat to me anyway. Like StefanZ said, sort of a reverse fever coat. Maybe abyeb and @1CatOverTheLine can tell you more. Hopefully they'll chime in.

That is interesting. I'd expect it to go the other way; for the white hairs to disappear as he outgrew a fever coat. I wonder if this could be a roan/tweed mutation, since it appears that white hairs are interspersed with the black.
