Hi everyone! Now ive got More then one cat and have grown up pretty big can anyone suggest a suitable cat tree/ activity centre for cats. Ive looked at lots of sites but not sure on suitability and sturdiness of some of them. Sounds a silly question but im quiet new to cat ownership and not bought a one for large adult cats before. Thanks :-)

I have a 6 foot tree from http://www.arubacat.com/productpics.html The tree is very sturdy and well made. I bought the tree from a local non-chain pet store that carries the brand but had to special order the tree I wanted.

Another pet store has these sturdy trees: http://www.wadescattrees.com/priceless_2nd_pg.html

The SPCA had these trees featured during a Christmas sale: http://mountaincattrees.com/home

Here are some other web sites for cat trees and furniture:

http://www.cattreefurniture.com/

http://www.angelicalcat.com/

http://www.catsplay.com/cat-furniture-types

Personally I feel that most cat trees sold in chain pet stores, big box stores, etc are pretty poor quality. I've seen some that are really flimsy and made of very thin plywood and thin cheap carpet with exposed (!!) large staples.

I like Armarkat and Kitty Mansion brand cat trees. I order mine from Wayfair.com and Amazon.

I recently ordered 3 different trees and will arrange then side-by-side to create a large gym.

This one is made by Go Pet Club

This one is made by Trixie Pet Products

This one is made by Kitty Mansions.

On a whole, Go Pet Club is not a brand I really like. I bought this one b/c it looked sturdier and will compliment the other 2 pieces nicely.

crazypetlady crazypetlady - I recently bought this one from Amazon and had it delivered to the UK. Think it came from the Netherlands or Germany but with p&p it was under £50. Took a bit of putting together but is really sturdy and takes a good battering from my 2 12 week old kittens. Comes in lots of different colours and is better quality than I expected for the price. Can thoroughly recommend!

Aw that's great looks like cat heaven :-) I'll get my dad round to help build it then, wouldn't trust myself to try putting something big or complicated together, though I did put together a TV stand, simple but I was proud :-)

Not a fan of Armarkat.  I purchased one of their big trees in a pinch and I definitely wouldn't repeat the same mistake.  I bought it for the kitten room three months ago and today it looks like it's been through a war.  The battered faux sherpa fabric has worn thin on corners, exposing the wood beneath, the whole thing is looking warped, especially the ramp which is noticeably crooked.  It off-gassed horribly for the longest time; the stench was intolerable.  Thank goodness it was purchased mid-summer when the windows could be opened.  I had to keep air circulating in that room, pushing fumes out the window, for two months.

Drs. Foster and Smith used to have high quality trees, but now they've gone downhill.  I can't think of any I'd recommend anymore...I'll probably end up paying someone to make a tree next time I need one.  Or I'll cut down one of the dead ones on my parents' property and get creative with some sisal rope and homemade platforms.

For now I've made some furniture, rather stuck vet bed and scratching pads to current shelves and furniture and so things I've not been using have a new lease of life. I've ordered a couple of cheap cardboard beds and scratchers and some cheap bear paw cat trees, Ive not received them yet, not sure the quality will be great but will last till I can think up some ideas of my own to get some made or get my dad to put something together for them :-)
