Is it normal that progress stops? I had been making headway and now it feels like we're at a bit of a standstill.

Also, is canned salmon okay as a cat treat?

It is absolutely normal. Just keep on, and be patient. It takes as long as it takes, and is very different with each cat. Hang in there. The worst thing you can do is to try to rush things. That could put you back at square one.

I would be very sparing with the canned salmon, but in small amounts it should be perfectly fine.
