Don't get me wrong--I ADORE eBay, and buys tons of stuff there regularly...
You may want to be aware of the problem I've been having the past 3 days with the checkout process. I bought an item 3 days ago, and tried to pay with Paypal as usual. I got a message, "Sorry, we could not complete your request at this time...try again in 15 minutes." I tried that several times, then emailed the seller (it was after 11PM, and way past our bedtime--DH has to be up at 4:40 AM), telling her about the problem, and asked her if I could pay the next day, etc. Next morning, I tried..and tried...and tried for a total of about 14 times. I then called Paypal, who told me I needed to confirm the one credit card I've been using for a few months now (after confirming my account back then). Still didn't work. Emailed the seller again (she's very sweet, BTW). Called Paypal AGAIN later. They suggested that the seller invoice me through Paypal to circumvent the eBay process (they said the problem was with eBay). The seller didn't do the invoice the correct way (she's a newbie, and I didn't make myself clear, I guess).
I just spend 45 minutes on the phone with eBay and Paypal, who say they aren't able to fix the problem yet. They did send me instructions on how to tell the seller how to do invoicing, which I had to copy & paste as a reply, as eBay doesn't divulge her email address...
Oh, on top of all of this, yesterday, Paypal told me that each time I tried to pay, it's possible that I will get charged that amount EACH TIME--in other words, $180 x 14=$2700. The seller has to reverse those charges.
And, I think the calls I made were pay calls..God only knows how much THAT will cost...
