YAY! My niece's and nephew's father's visitation is suspended!
And next Friday the judge wants to interview the kids to see what they want. So hopefully next week this mess will all be over!

The court date was changed from last friday to today.
I'll be going too becuse my niece is very nervous and she needs alot of support if her father shows up (I'm strongly hoping he doesn't)
I'll let you know what happens.

Then after that my nephew called my sister begging her to please come and get him, which is something he's never done before.

my sister has called the police this morning and they are checking to see if a restraining order she previously had is still good and that should help legally.
She's still waiting on a call back from them.

My stomach is just in knots with worry. I hate just waiting around for news.

If she told the police about the car thing, then there is no reason they aren't up there taking the kids and arresting him. That is very serious. My father once threatened to shoot me and himself, and within 20 minutes, my mother and the police were there, escorting him out.

LAzy me didn't read the whole thread... I'm glad to hear things worked out okay. I'm sending good vibes your way for the court date.

At the kitty's beck and call
My fingers are crossed for them and my thoughts are with you all right now. Your nephew and niece just don't need all this stress in their young lives.

I hope the hearing goes well.

Well, the judge said my nephew was old enough to not have to go if he don't want to. But my niece still has to go one weekend a month. The poor girl looked like she wanted to cry all of the way home.

After all he put those kids through I don't know why my niece still has to see him. They both told the judge they didn't want to see him anymore. My niece is 13 and I heard that was the age where they were able to decide what they wanted to do.

So she has to go there this weekend and I am so afraid that he will not bring her back (he has to pick her up and bring her back) and we will have to go through the same horror we had to go through in December.

I am just so very disappointed and afraid.

I'm thinking of you and your family - I hope it will be better than you fear. At least now the courts have ruled and you will have some redress if things go wrong. But it is sad your niece has to go through all that.

Thanks Stephanie, Jaspers Mummy and Jenny.

I'm going to be very nervous all weekend. The thing that gets me is that he admitted to the judge he did all of those things and yet she still is making my niece go. How screwed up is that?

Relief!!!! My niece's father isn't picking her up this weekend because he says he has to go into the hospital for test!

Of course I don't beleive there's anything wrong with him. Over the years he's claimed to have many things wrong with him that didn't exist, like brain tumors, twisted up intestines...ect. Of which he never had any surgies for and doesn't have them anymore.
