We don't know if it is related to the surgery or not because the only vet open right now is the local pet hospital and they refused to do testing or an overnight stay because I didn't have the money on hand. (they wont wait till payday in a week to get the rest of the money)

What they told us is that they think that it might be his herpes kicking in and causing an infection that is making it hard for him to breath. His nose has been bleeding on and off over the last two hours as well. (that started at the vets) The vet said that the bloody nose could be a result of having to much mucus in his nose. I can see that being the case i guess, because he can't breath threw his nose at all. If he has build up and sneezes it might cause bleeding in his passage ways. I still don't entirely trust it though, but as of right not we have no other options. They gave us the info for a clinic that we never heard of before because they will do testing cheap. We are going to them tomorrow to get that done. For tonight they gave us antibiotics for his chest. They wern't concerned about the bloody stool because they said that it could have been caused by stress from the resp. infection. It was a lot of loose blood in the stool so I'm not sure as to if I agree with the bleeding being insignificant.

THey were kind enough to tell us that we need to watch him like a hawk tonight because if hes breathing gets worse it coud stop altogether. He had an attack of labored breathing both at home and at the hospital. I can't believe they sent him home. He doesn't want to get out of his carrier so we have him in a dark corner of the living room with some soft music playing. He's trying to sleep right now so I'm going to get off here and try to get him to take his antibiotics again. (the first time he spit and drooled them out.

I cannot believe they refused to treat Meeko because you didn't have the money in hand!! Good grief!

If he's congested, you can place him in a steamy bathroom and sit with him until the steam dissipates or close the door with him in the bathroom while you shower. That will help clear out the snot in his nose. If you have a vaporizer, run that 24/7 near where he sleeps, preferably in a room with the door closed so the steam doesn't escape out the open door. If you don't have a vaporizer, you can put a pot of water on the stove and bring it to a boil. Then, let it simmer through the day, adding water as needed.

I took your advive and put him in the bathroom with stea. Itr helped him to the point where he could drinkagain wich was a big relief. Hes still pretty bad, but the vet today put him in an oxygen cage. It had airborn meds in it as well so hes deff, looking better.

Great news though!!! its kinda twisted but we are happy cause they think it is herpes. Clem busted out with the same thing today as well, so its very inlikely that its related to his surgery. On the bright side, this vet is reasonably priced and she looked at clem for free since its a related illness in the household. clem is on meds now so shes at home just napping a lot. she hasnt gotten nearly as bad as Meekers...

thanks for your support guys! we apriciate the vibes, they are working!!!

So glad the little guy is doing better. Continue to steam him to help keep those nasal passages open. Do it as often as you can throughout the day.

Is he on any kind of meds?
