Our big fat cat, Mrs. Cheese, is really only affectionate to us if we're in the bedroom, on the bed. We could sit on the couch all day long and she'll never jump up to sit with us, but if one of us gets a phonecall and takes the phone into the bedroom, she'll literally RUN to follow us and then purr like crazy and rub up against us, begging to be pet.
I saw the other thread about cats being annoying at night, and Mrs. Cheese is the same way! We usually close them out of the room at night because of it, and we just feel terrible about it! In the middle of the night she'll come up and purr against our faces and rub up against us, and she'll usually go to sleep on our pillow for a little while.
It's the same anytime we're in the bedroom laying on the bed-- after a shower, reading a book, ANY time... but she won't give us the time of day anywhere else in the house! (Unless we have food for her, haha.) It's been this way ever since we brought her into our house almost 5 years ago. We got her as an older kitten - 7 months old - could this be a result of something her previous owners did? It's just so bizarre!
