Hi , as l am new to the site l hope l am in the right topic .
We lost our cat a good few years ago after having him for 15 years .
We are now retired and thinking about getting a kitten .
We have a static caravan the season lasts 5 months and we use it a lot in the summer . Would it be ok to take the cat with us when we go . It's only 40 mins in the car , but we are worried if a change of home , however temporary would be unsettling .
It's only a small site there are no bars shops etc on the caravan site .
My son takes his cat with him when they go with no problems at all
Thanks Robert

Hi Robert;

I took my cat on trips home to visit family, which were two hours, one way. He was fine. Kittens are very adaptable.

All cats are different just like us their humans are so just because your son's cat like camping doesn't mean the kitten will. What I would suggest is before you even go to the caravan site stay in caravan with the kitty and see how it does or as a mini vacation go to a different house and stay for a few days to see how the kitten will react.

Thanks for your advice , the caravan is a large static and we would be keeping him in the van anyway until he is older .

Thanks Robert

Bruce goes with us to our weekend home often and has no trouble with it. He actually seems to enjoy the change of sceney.
