Okay. So, a week and a half ago, we bought a beautiful 7 month old female Persian kitten from an amazing breeder. They're a registered cattery and have amazing reviews and testimonials. We're head over heels in love with her. The breeder told me that she had noticed some of the male cats starting to "check her out," so if we had not picked her up that weekend, they were going to taker her to get spayed. They gave us the option, but we wanted to get her home, let her adjust, and then have her spayed with the vet we chose. There was no chance of her encountering any male cats in our home, she is our only pet.
BUT. She has been acting strange the last week. Meowing constantly. Grooming a lot. Following me around. Sleeping all the time. Hiding in weird places. Not covering her poop in the litter box. I thought it was just the adjustment period, but when I picked her up a few days ago I felt like she had gotten rounder. My husband thought I was being crazy, but came to me yesterday with the same suspicions.
I checked her nipples today after reading about "pinking" and here is what I found. They are a pink-coral color. Some are slightly darker than this, but this is the one I was able to get a photo of.
What do you think? If she is pregnant, do I contact the breeder? What will they do? We were already considering buying another Persian (or two) to be her companions, so I'd like to keep our choice of the kittens if she is in fact pregnant. I don't want to give her back or put her through an abortion. How do I approach this?
Thanks
