You may remember the story of our Andy who now has a sister named Abbigail, and this is her story...
Abigail (“Abby”) is an exceptionally sweet and playful cat who doesn’t seem to have a mean bone in her body. She loves to be touched and pet, and she loves to play fetch with her ball. Abigail is a purr machine. Abigail is also very vocal, but we try not to reinforce her meowed demands. Here’s the story about how Abigail came to us:
On October 10, 2024, a truck backed up to a loading dock at our warehouse. One of our warehouse workers (who was outside guiding the truck) heard a loud meowing coming from under the truck as it backed up. After the truck had stopped, he found Abigail underneath the truck, perched in a crevice. The truck driver said he had come to Yaphank directly from Brooklyn via the Long Island Expressway (a 60-mile trip!) and hadn’t stopped his entire journey! Somehow, Abigail had managed to survive. Abby was immediately taken to a vet, where she was examined and (after testing) was treated for hookworms, fleas, and ear mites. Abigail has received all of her shots and has tested negative for Feline Leukemia and Feline AIDS. On October 10, 2024, our vet estimated that Abby was 3 to 4 months old.
