I heard Gizmo utter a loud sigh yesterday. Since this was not normal with her I wondered if she could have an asthmatic attack as we were playing with her interactive mouse toy. The gasp occurred in the morning, very early.
Gizmo was sick later that day around 7 PM. She insisted on eating most of the sick but there was nothing in it but food.
This morning we played Mouse, she ate some kibble then asked to play again. This is normal behaviour for Gizmo. She went under the sofa and I heard a cry, almost like that of a child. Then the unmistakable heaving sounds. I heaved the sofa away from her and she ran out and was a little sick on the floor. Again, nothing in it but kibble.
She drank a lot of water when I gave it to her and I noted that she later ate her food with great delicacy, picking out one piece at a time and chewing it. The kibble she vomited was whole.
I hope that this is not a vet matter but will phone later today to make sure that this is nothing serious. Gizmo's eyes are bright, she is using her box, and is calmly sitting by right now.
How is this normally dealt with, and is it just a 'common cat thing' as my neighbour assured me last night?
Please do not advise 'feed her wet food' since she refuses to eat it.
Thanks.
