A friend of mine recently had a house fire... no one was hurt, and there wasn't any major damage, but the smoke make the house they were renting unlivable. They were forced to move from the country into the city, and only a few of her animals could come. She asked me to help and so we took two of her dogs and her chickens (we're keeping the chickens!) THEN, the woman who was supposed to take two of her four cats backed out on her right before they were scheduled to go out of town (with you-know-who volunteering to baby-sit the other two, whom they are keeping.) Soooo... we are currently caring for eight cats, three dogs, and four chickens. One of my cats has something wrong with his eyes, the other can't handle the new food we've been trying, and the chicken coop keeps flooding! To top it all off, one of my friends dogs is an unaltered male, and MY female dog is in heat!

I'm feeling a little... busy... these days! [IMG]

OMG! What you describe reminds me of an episode of "Reba" where they decided to take in a Katrina victim family. They thought it was only 2 people, but when the woman showed up there were like 25 of them!

I'm glad that your friend and her pets were uninjured.

Yikes, be careful. You wouldn't want any unplanned puppies on top of everything else your dealing with.

Aww, that's a sweet thing to say. We couldn't just let them all get taken to the shelter! We have NEVER had this many animals in the house before, but thankfully my husband is really helping me a lot!

[IMG], have you seen how many posts I've made today? I'm trying to get enough in to last for a few weeks! [IMG]
