We were just talking about this at work and I am wondering if you all have the same experience. I realized that men, no matter who they are, will almost always hold a door open for a woman. I actually can not think of one time that I have been somewhere and a man who was going in or out at the same time did not hold the door for me. This has been true of ALL men, drunk men, professional men, smelly working men
, and even the perverted ones that just want to stare at you as you walk by. Are men the same way where you live? Do you think it has to do with the way they are raised? I don't think it's that because even when I worked for a criminal defense attorney and had to escort the guys to court they opened the door
I think it's just a rule that is imbedded in their heads that they should do this.
Whatever reason it is, it's nice that they do it.
Edited to add: This little story kind of goes along with this topic. My fiance's 8 year old always holds the door open for women when we go anywhere. The problem is he never knows when to let it go. One afternoon he was right beside me walking out of a clothing store and I started walking into the parking lot and noticed he wasn't beside me. I turned around and he was still standing at the door holding it for people going in and out
