1. they are dependent on me because I thought by fall I could find them homes or shelters, but that did not work out so far. So now if im not there they will go hungry.
2. I cant trap any cats to get them spayed/neutered. I only have enough money to feed them a can a day, and my parents will not pay for there operation. Even with the lowest-cost clinic prices or vet prices, its still too much for me to afford even for one operation.
3. the railroad is far from a safe area even for the most experienced cats. You have a speeding train, fast cars, mouse poison by peoples houses, no protection from bad weather, and people who dont like cats and I dont even want to think what they will do to them. The MUST be moved to a safer location into someones house or a cat colony with a caretaker who can give them med's, food, vet care, and warm shelter.
4. the railroad is town property so I CANT set up a shelter for them, nor is there any caretakers in my area I have already checked. Also my town does not deal with stray cats they are allowed to roam anywhere and are only captured if they are sick like with rabies, or dead. So now matter how much I beg for someone to feed them thats involved wth the town it's just not gonna happen.
5. I dont have enough money or members to start a rescue group. I cant do it alone when i only get $10.00 a week, which will be ending soon because mowing my lawn for my parents is almost over.
Im begging please anyone out there I have tried my best for a month to solve this problem but have found no answers. Please someone out there can you PLEASE help I know someone out there has an answer. Before winter comes and the cats must face more danger.

I also wanted to know is spay/neuter is free, and if they can relocate them to an area with a caretaker, which obviously probably wont be in West Babylon, because there arent any! lol crazy people here.
I hope these guys will be of some help they have helped in other towns from what I saw in the "news" section.
Keith, I think you should start contacting each of the 50 people who want to join a rescue group. Let them know that you are a teenager, with lots of heart but no money. If a few of the adults will get together to pay for spay/neuter, you can help trap and feed. I do not think the cats need to be relocated. They cats know to dodge the trains. My barn cat Will was born at a dairy farm, and he still runs for shelter when a truck comes down the street, from learning as a kitten to run from the milk truck!Originally Posted by keith p
