My 9 months old DSH kitten ate a ScarAway strip. (1.5 x 3 inches, it's like a cloth-type bandage with a thin layer of silicone). I didn't actually see her eating it, but I saw her smacking although there's not food out, and I cannot find one of those strips anywhere (I use 2 every night), so I assumed she ate it. And, she has a tendency of pica. She loves to chew and swallow any paper, regular white paper or kleenex. I try to keep those stuff out of her reach.
I took her to our regular vet right away, and they induced vomiting using an anesthesia drug (its side effect is vomiting, they said). But we couldn't find anything like the strip in the vomit. The vet said we need to wait for another 2-3 days, and if she doesn't pass it, we'll need to do barium + x-ray to locate where it is, then we may do endoscopy or surgery.
Now she is just lying down because of the drugs. I'm going to pay very close attention to the litterbox for the next few days. I am very worried. Is there anything else I can do for her? I was told I could feed her as usual, although she doesn't go near her food right now.
Thank you in advance.
