I work from home currently and spend a good deal of time around my 9 month old kitten Samantha ("Sam"). I've noticed every 3-4 weeks (maybe even less frequently), she gets into some wheezing/sneezing fits, maybe with a small amount of coughing thrown in.
I finally caught a video of it:
I've never seen them last more than 2-3 minutes. After that she goes on acting like a normal (crazy) kitten: running around, playing, being affectionate. Normal kitten stuff. No other symptoms of anything I can tell.
Is something to be concerned about? My vet who said the coughing was more of a concern to her, and Sam should be seen. Reviewing the video, it looks and sounds like she's just sneezing/wheezing - like something got into her nose/throat? Maybe she gets into something (dust etc) that sets off an brief allergic attack?
I have an appointment scheduled with vet tomorrow. I don't want to be overly concerned and spend money/time on trivial things, but I also don't want to ignore something that could be major.
Any help and/or experience with this appreciated!
Thanks!
John
