Merritt Clifton in this month's Animal Watch Magazine estimates that the number of spay/neuter surgeries performed each year must increase by 6.8 million (6.4 million cats, 400,000 dogs) if the nation is to achieve no kill status.
In my area of North Mississippi, the Olive Branch Animal Shelter has what is called the Spay/Neuter Bus. It is an old school bus set up inside as a Spay/Neuter clinic and the VOLUNTEER Vet once day a week works this Bus. This volunteer Vet became a Vet in her 50's and specialized in spaying and netuering of pets.Originally posted by TNR1

Actually, quite often. The generally run in packs and, when in city or suburban areas, are quickly picked up and eithanized by animal control authorities. In more rural areas feral dogs are extremely common, but are often shot by local residents when they threaten livestock or are run over by cars. Yes, they are a serious problem. But how often do you see feral dogs?
