Just over two weeks ago, I noticed one of my cats urine looked reddish, so I made a makeshift device to capture her urine, it took me a day of two until I was able to do so.
The very next day I took her to a vet who (guessed it might be a UTI) gave her vitamin injections and an amoxycillin injection and had me start her on oral amoxycillin, after a week it hadn't cleared up.
We had to take her for x-rays (twice since he wasn't happy with the first one) and didn't find any evidence of kidney stones. So he said the mucus lining of her bladder was probably missing and he started her on penicillin and an "anti-inflammatory" drug. I used to alternate giving my cats wet and dry food. The vet was very upset with this as he doesn't believe in giving cats wet food.
However, I switched to giving her entirely wet food since I read that it's better if it's a UTI or in the case where the lining is damaged.
She doesn't appear to be in any pain and for the most part her appetite seems to be the same.
I live in a country where people don't really do blood work or urine analysis for animals so that doesn't seem to be an option.
I'm really worried (terrified!) as I've had her since she was a day old.
Is there any advice that anyone here can give me?
