Hi all!

I adopted two kittens three weeks ago. One of them is doing just fine, but we're a little worried about the other one.

She was really skinny when we adopted her, and she looks like she's filled out a bit. However, in two weeks, she's only gained 0.170 kg as compared to our other kitten, who has gone from 1.7 kg to 2.1 kg. Over the last 2-3 days, she's also become lethargic. She plays, but not for very long. Her sister will be running wild while she'll give up after 5 minutes.

She's eating and drinking water, and she's been tested for all types of worms and there's nothing. She is teething right now, but that's been going on for more than a week with no adverse effects. We're not quite sure what to do at this point, she's been thoroughly looked over by a vet, but we're worried.

I would get a second opinion from another vet ... kittens can go downhill very fast.

:yeah: Emergency vet, if that's all you can get on short notice. And in the meantime, get some KMR (Kitten Milk Replacer), either powder or liquid (you combine the powder with water, of course) to get some calories into her. A cosmetic sponge wedge wrapped in some thin cloth (like a handkerchief) will do in place of a nipple. (There are good nipples available, but not at your corner pet supply store, most likely, though you can ask.)
