As luck would have it, I joined the forum a couple days ago to ask about toilet training, and on the yearly visit to the vet I find out that my 2 yr old cat who I've known is overweight, but has gained 2 more lbs and has developed a 3 out of 6 heart murmur. He weighs about 15.5 lbs so we're going on prescription food for the next 3 months to see if it's just excessive calories, which would come off with the food, or if it's soemthing actually metabolic causing his weight. Either due to his weight or the heart murmur, some of his vessels were more dense in the X-ray most likely because of an increase in blood pressure. He had no change in the size of his heart which is good, and everything else looks just fine. These next couple weeks are going to be just miserable feeding this cat 1/4c. food twice a day. Just wondering what kind of experiences are out there with heart murmurs and how others weight loss has gone.
